The Burr Family has been involved in the motorcycle industry for over 50 years. John Burr Sr. started in the business in 1947. John Burr Cycles formally opened in October of 1970 as a Suzuki dealership by John Burr Sr. John Sr. previously was a G.M. at Harrison Reno Honda in San Bernardino for 21 years. When the opportunity arose, he opened his own dealership with 4 employees including himself in a small building on Foothill Blvd. in Fontana. In April of 1971, John was able to secure the Honda franchise which led to a need for a larger facility.The business moved to 9660 Sierra, south of our current location, in November of 1972. As a result of the move, Suzuki elected to cancel the franchaise and John Burr Cycles became a Honda only dealership. In March of 1975, John Sr. negotiated a deal to purchase Jim Fishback's Yamaha of Fontana. We then moved to the current location and became a Honda- Yamaha deakership. The service department was built in 1980 and the metal Storage building in the back was built in 1982. In June of 1998, John Burr Cycles purchased the Kawasaki franchise from Fontana Motorcycles and stayed a 3 line dealership until present. Today we are still a family-owned business where we specialize in the off-road market and we take pride in our business of helping other motorcycle enthusiasts like you.
